This report is based on the translation of Chapter Two and Chapter Three of the book Agriculture 5.0: Artificial Intelligence,Internet of Things & Machine Learning. On the premise of the global agricultural development, the original book presents the advantages of applying advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence,Internet of Things and Machine Learning in agriculture.Chapters Two and Three explain new concepts such as precision agriculture, smart agriculture, and digital agriculture from the perspective of agricultural technologists, further explain the impetus that the industrial revolution has given to agriculture since the first industrial revolution, and introduce the advantages of the technologies such as wireless sensor networks.Guided by the communicative translation theory, this project analyzed the difficulties at the lexical, syntactic, and textual levels and proposed corresponding solutions. At the lexical level, the translator adopted means like consulting parallel texts and relevant documents, annotation, transliteration, literal translation and free translation,to ensure the fluency and conciseness of the translation of terms, proper nouns, acronyms, synonyms, and collocations. At the syntactic level,to translate long and complex sentences and passive voice more in line with Chinese language habits, the translator adopted methods like reorganization, change of voice, and the use of words with passive meanings, etc. At the textual level, the translator ensured linguistic norms of the translation by means of omission, addition, and repetition. It is hoped that the lessons gained in this report will provide some reference for translators engaged in relevant translation and it is also hoped that the translation will provide readers with an opportunity to learn about the global development trend in this field.
