The Research On Zhou Mi’s "Excellent Ci"

"Excellent Ci" is an anthology of clear selection of words for The Times of the Southern Song Dynasty carefully compiled by Zhou Mi,the adherents of a former dynasty.It has two versions,seven volumes and nine volumes.For the first time,this paper selects the nine-volume version of " Excellent Ci ",which are added with Yu Ji’s "Continued Notes" and Xu Mao’s "Renewed Notes",as the base book.And put " Excellent Ci " in the big environment of the Southern Song Dynasty Ci circle.Compared with three anthologies of Ci in the Southern Song Dynasty,"Caotang Shiyu","Huaan Anthology","Yangchun Baixue",and three anthologies of Ci in the Southern Song Dynasty,"Yuefu Zhimi","Ci Yuan" and "Ci Zhi",and makes an overall observation of "Excellent Ci",which is contained in the standard of word selection and the mainstream theory of Ci in the Southern Song Dynasty.The full text consists of three parts:In the first part,this paper makes a special investigation on Zhou Meng,the author of "Excellent Ci",including the year of his death and the experience that influenced his completion of the book.After drawing the conclusion that "Excellent Ci" was selected from the end of Song Dynasty to the beginning of Yuan Dynasty,and combining with Mr.Wu Xionghe’s "Lexical Review of Tang and Song Dynasties",other collections and chronicles of related poets,55 selected Ci poems were compiled,which served as the preliminary data and logical starting point of the second and third parts.It also makes a horizontal and vertical comparison between "Excellent Ci" and the selection and the theory of Ci in the Southern Song Dynasty,and roughly outlines the outline of Ci creation and the development trend of Ci theory in different periods of the Southern Song Dynasty.In this way,it is concluded that "Excellent Ci" is in agreement with the Ci theory of the Southern Song Dynasty,which is the basis of the third part of this paper.In the Second part,taking the first part of words that can be chronicled as the basic data and the selected poets in "Excellent Ci" as the research object,this paper defines the time periods and connotations of the poets in Zhongxing after Nandu and those who lived in Song and Yuan Dynasties respectively.This paper explores the patriotic thoughts expressed by poets in different historical periods in "Excellent Ci" by chanting things,giving words to each other,or indirectly or directly,which provides research materials for the artistic style of the third part.In the Third part,on the basis of previous research,the theory and the anthology of Ci are mutually referenced,Under this background,the paper explores the guidance or influence between it and "Excellent Ci" in the standard of word selection.Finally,it concludes that "Excellent Ci" presents a clear,elegant and natural artistic style in the space-time field of the Southern Song Dynasty.
