In Persian miniature, the colour Blue has a unique status which is suggested to be a unique expression of the spiritual world, these miniatures which are the first forms of picture books in Iran are famous worldwide. Many studies have been carried out on different aspects of colour in Persian miniatures, such as the symbolic meaning of colour. The results of these studies can be found in hundreds of books and articles. However, the symbolic meaning of colour basically does not work for the artist’s creation and will lead to artists’ over the conceptual understanding of the use of colour. For example, when expressing prosperity and luck, some Chinese artists will choose red,on the other hand, the colour representing prosperity and luck in Iran is green. The cultural differences between China and Iran lead to different impressions of the same colour by artists and audiences, which has nothing to do with right or wrong. Therefore, simply using colour to express a concept or using colour to symbolise a meaning with cultural particularity, does not seem to be all of it.This paper attempts to understand colour in its emotional way, rather than in a symbolic way.
