A Study Of Cai Yong’s Calligraphic Dynamics

The main topic this paper talks about is the Calligraphic Dynamic System established by Cai Yong and its contemporary value.Beginning with the evolution from Dynamics to Calligraphic Dynamics,the author restitutes the Calligraphic Dynamic System built by Cai Yong at the end of the Han Dynasty.The system has a calligraphic theoretical framework in which dynamics sit in the center of it which includes the expression from time and space of Dynamics,the status of Dynamics,expression form,brushwork,and aesthetic thought.This research tries to go through the grandiose historical background,considering this problem from the perspective of his life and thought.This paper argued that Cai Yong is a milestone man in the calligraphic theory and history of calligraphic practice.As a systematic summary of the technique of calligraphy between Qin and Han,he established a dynamics-centralized calligraphic theoretical framework,Jing-centralized aesthetic thinking,and Calligraphy creation theory has a status of scattering.Now we don’t pay enough attention to Cai Yong,his calligraphic and theory even more so.This paper put Cai Yong’s Calligraphic Theory in the background of the history of Calligraphic,using the time analysis,Multi-angle literature analysis,historical research,and comparative research,to clarify the origin of calligraphy theory with Calligraphic Dynamics as its main pulse,pointing out the huge influence about later generations of calligraphy,calligraphers and style,combing with calligraphic practice and thinking,put forward the contemporary meaning of Calligraphic Dynamics.
