Lines Are Far-reaching And Long-lasting: A Study On The Expression Of Line Language In Watermark Woodcut Print

Chinese watermarking woodcut prints have a long history and played a role of copying and inheriting cultural transmission in ancient times.Ancient Chinese woodcut was originally presented in the form of lines,and it has left us rich visual experience in the long historical development process.It still plays an important role in the creation of watermark woodcut today,and rich artistic value can still be seen from the painters of watermark woodcut today.Nowadays,lines are presented in different ways and possibilities in watermarking woodcut works.Artists convey artistic ideas of emotional expression through lines consistent with their personality and temperament,and form their own unique visual symbols.In this paper,the lines in watermarking woodcut are taken as the starting point.The first and second chapters are combined with the periods when the focus lines of representative works change.The third chapter is a specific study of the modern part based on individual cases of artists.The last chapter is my experience in watermarking woodcutting practice.Vertically,there are historical and inevitable reasons for the development of Chinese watermarking woodcut lines.As learners of watermarking art,what we need to do is to absorb the nutrients we need to enrich our artistic creation.
