Reforming The Old And Establishing The New: Image Research In Tenggu Art Archaeolog

The current academic attention to Tenggu is mainly focused on his pre-1931 field of art history research,while the archaeological research on fine art after his return from His studies in Germany is slightly insufficient.Therefore,this paper will focus on the study of images in the fine art archaeology work carried out by Teng gu from 1934 to 1937,when Teng Gu had completed his studies at the University of Berlin and mastered a certain degree of comprehensive research ability in history and archaeology.After returning to China,Tenggu’s focus shifted from the early study of art history to the field of art archaeology,which also began in China,and Tenggu played a major role in the early stages of its construction.After studying at the University of Berlin and long-term infestation with Western modern art,Teng Gu’s research on pictorial materials is mostly the use of Western modern research methods for Chinese antiquities.Therefore,for the academic circles at that time,it had advanced educational significance.However,this was not fully explored at the time.Therefore,in the eyes of today’s people,it is particularly necessary to conduct an in-depth investigation of the image research methods in Teng gu’s fine art archaeology.This article will discuss tenggu’s research in five parts.1.Explore the background of Tenggu’s art archaeology,that is,the environment under which Tenggu conducted art archaeology research,and what factors prompted him to shift the focus of his research from art history to art archaeology.Second: Starting from the original text of Tenggu art archaeology,the research ideas of Tenggu are roughly sorted out and compared with the research literature of other scholars of the same object in the same period,and the characteristics of tenggu image research methods are tried to be obtained.Third: After sorting out the general characteristics of Tenggu image research methods,we focus on explaining the specific application of its research methods and deepening Tenggu’s understanding of the application of modern Western research methods.Fourth: Starting from Tenggu’s study abroad experience and friendship status,investigate the specific sources of the image research methods used by Tenggu.V.Finally,give an objective and fair evaluation of the contribution of Tenggu’s image research methods in the history of art and the department of fine art archaeology.At the same time,it strives to recognize its own limitations and the developments that future generations have made to it.
