A Study On The Narrative Text Of The Opera "War And Peace

Sergei Sergeyevich Prokofiev was one of the most famous composers in the former Soviet Union of the 20 th century.His musical compositions combine distinct Russian styles,18th-century classical styles and 20th-century modernisms.The opera "War and Peace" is the last work completed by Prokofiev in 12 years,adapted from the novel of the same name by the famous writer Tolstoy.Musical narratology is a branch derived from the "narratology" discipline in literature in the1970 s under the guidance of interdisciplinary and cross-media trends.It mainly focuses on the narrative skills,narrative structure and narrative language of various texts in musical works.Do research.This paper takes the opera "War and Peace" as the research object,and examines the narration of its dual text of music and script from the research method of musical narratology.The first part mainly summarizes the historical development and analysis methods of narratology theory and music narration theory,and discusses the narrative elements and narrative language of opera genre.The second part discusses the narrative construction of the opera "War and Peace",trying to examine its narrative structure from the perspective of "decentralization",scene opposition,and the integration of main and sub-lines,and to explore its narrative structure from the perspective of character level to national level.Narrative time and space,and analyze its narrative perspective from a non-focusing perspective and an inner-focusing perspective,and interpret the script narrative.The third part focuses on the textual narration of the music of the opera War and Peace,trying to discuss the narrative construction of this work from the narrator and narrative scene,excavating its musical narrative techniques from musical elements such as theme motives,war chorus,orchestral music,etc.The interpretation of music narrative discourse is guided by the viewpoints of three scholars,Crane,Alleman and Carr.In the fourth part,in the narrative analysis based on the script and the musical text,it discusses the embodiment of the dual text in the Russian national spirit,humanism,personal and political environment and other narrative connotations.In the conclusion part,the author will sort out and summarize the narrative theory of the opera War and Peace,so as to present its unique handling of political and personal opera creation ideas,and try to apply the musical narrative theory to the research method of opera genre.thought.
