A Comparative Study Of The Image Of Hua Mulan In Chinese And American Film And Television Work

Hua Mulan is a very famous historical figure in Chinese history.She is a legendary heroine.In history,poems,CI and operas about Hua Mulan emerge one after another.Various literary carriers show Mulan’s legendary experience.There are many stories about Mulan,which are generally consistent,but the details have been modified by dynasties.American films adapt traditional Chinese stories into American classics,which greatly retains the tradition and history of the East,which also provides samples for us to study cross-cultural art and provides a research paradigm for us to explore.The main theories of this paper are narratology theory,film narratology related theory and the framework of "drama five in one".Taking the analysis of historical stories as the starting point,the main purpose of this paper is to tell the comparative analysis of Chinese and American Mulan films through the comparison of Chinese stories and foreign stories.This paper hopes to compare Chinese and American Mulan films and tell the story of Chinese Mulan.It also has important theoretical value in the field of cross-cultural communication research.In the process of telling Chinese stories well to the world,we should publicize excellent stories in different languages and cultures,This paper is divided into four parts:The first part is the introduction to the third chapter.The introduction first briefly describes the problem awareness,research method and research background of this paper,and conducts a preliminary review of the relevant literature involved in this paper.The first chapter discusses the origin and evolution of the image of Chinese Mulan.Starting from the "Mulan Ci",it makes a historical retrospective of the image of Mulan,extracts the typical image of Chinese Mulan,and analyzes and compares Mulan in the Chinese vision.The third chapter starts from the American movie "Mulan" and analyzes the romanticism and westernization of Mulan’s image.The second part is the fourth chapter,starting from the text,cutting in from the perspective of narratology,analyzing and comparing the five factors of Chinese and American narrative stories,and expounding the narrative strategies of Chinese and American Mulan stories: Chinese stories carry other countries’ values,and domestic stories carry their own values.,American stories carry Chinese values.The third part is Chapter 5,which explores the evolution of Mulan’s image in China and the United States.Explain the cultural misunderstandings brought about by the differences in cultural aesthetics in the eyes of the West regarding typical oriental images,explain the influence of Western centralism in the United States,and then summarize the cultural connotations behind the different images of Mulan in China and the United States,and analyze the Mulan between China and the United States.The cultural origin of the image similarities and differences,and finally analyzes the interesting topics of the American Mulan movie,explaining its culture and integration.The fourth part is the conclusion of the sixth chapter of this article,which imagines and looks forward to the heroine in Chinese art,enables readers to further understand the meaning of Chinese stories,and adds a deeper analysis and understanding to the heroine image of Mulan.
