Cao Baoping is a special existence among Chinese directors.The dual identities of director and professor endow him with more vigor and enthusiasm in his creation.Since the beginning of the new century,Chinese film contemporaries have entered a new era together,bursting with unprecedented vitality in the complicated film market.The development of film has always been closely related to the pulse of the times,adapting to the system and being able to survive in the system has become the premise of a director’s creation,and the author’s philosophical thinking that can inject a strong personal color while surviving is a valuable film concept for the creator.Cao Baoping’s works have shined brightly since the new millennium.While taking into account the profound expression of literature,he also emphasizes the commercial typology of film narratives.He is known as the representative of Chinese genre film narratives.In the new era when the overall pattern of Chinese films is moving towards a commercial type-dominated era,the "author in the system" represented by director Cao Baoping balances the demarcation between commercial type films and authored art films,with a potential driving force Affecting Chinese films to move towards a new pattern.The main body of this paper consists of three parts,including the introduction,the main body and the conclusion.The introduction part summarizes the characteristics of Cao Baoping’s film texts by combing the domestic and foreign literature on the reform and development of the Chinese film system and the concept of "authors in the system".The main part consists of three chapters.The first chapter explains the origin and characteristics of the Chinese film "Cao Baoping Phenomenon" since the beginning of the new century.First,the origin of the "Cao Baoping Phenomenon" is brought down to the construction of Cao Baoping’s directorship,and Cao Baoping’s creative career is sorted out and his film uniqueness is defined.Thematic implication and stylistic characteristics of Cao Baoping’s works,and then the intertextual characteristics of "Cao Baoping Phenomenon" are summarized through the common connection of Cao Baoping’s works.Then,based on the specificity of the dual identities of director and professor Cao Baoping and the blackness of his works,he studies the artistic expression of director Cao Baoping and the unique value of the "Cao Baoping phenomenon".The second chapter is mainly related to the process of the reform of the Chinese film system and Cao Baoping’s film.By sorting out the relevant documents and policies of the establishment,development and cross-century reform of the Chinese film system,it further summarizes the current trend of Chinese film system orientation.Sort out Cao Baoping’s creative behavior in the system and the composition of his films,and finally relate it to the reform of the Chinese film system,and summarize Cao Baoping’s typological tendency in the system.The third chapter analyzes the authorship of director Cao Baoping,the author in the system.Through Cao Baoping’s works,he summarizes his exploration and transformation in the system and the growth process towards the balance between the system and the market.Finally,return to the film text to analyze director Cao Baoping’s authorship strategy.Through careful reading of Cao Baoping’s film text,the director’s theme presentation,narrative techniques,characterization and screen presentation are analyzed and explained.Then try to analyze the feasible paths of authors in its system,so as to inspire and promote the engagement of authorship and commerciality in Chinese commercial genre films.In general,as a peculiar phenomenon of Chinese cinema since the beginning of the new century,Cao Baoping’s films have created more possibilities for the development of genre hybridization and genre subversion.Director Cao Baoping,as an author in the system,realizes artistic and The balance between businesses has opened up a new path,and also provided a reference for the new generation of directors to create in the system.
