As a form of ritual and folk music,the south central Shandong drum music is a manifestation of social culture,carrying the joys and sorrows of a group.As a product of the combination of rites and customs,rites and customs deeply reflect the influence of the culture of rites,and combine with advocacy music to form the structural form of rites and music,which has become a continuation of the traditional culture closely related to people’s lives in the folk wedding and funeral rites and customs.In view of the widespread form of using music in rites and customs,we should take a specific advocacy music class as the starting point,go deep into the folk wedding and funeral rites and customs,explore the function and significance of advocacy music as a cultural form,and form three levels of discussion based on the vision of Ethnomusicology and the theoretical achievements of other disciplines.The first level: according to the theory of ethnomusicology,adopt the method of field investigation,and follow the music class to collect music events from the perspective of outsiders.As an individual case in the school of advocating music in central and southern Shandong,the yangjiaban reflects the common characteristics of many music classes in a region.It depends on the folk etiquette and customs environment and often makes on-the-spot responses according to the etiquette and customs in different regions.Therefore,the exploration of a specific music class is not only the anatomy of an individual,but also the cut in of a regional culture.The second level: Based on the observed phenomena,use a variety of methods to explore its role from different angles.According to the different occasions in the etiquette and customs,the advocacy music can be divided into ritual music and entertainment music.In the former,first of all,as a non daily voice and as a cultural symbol,the symbolic meaning of advocacy music constitutes a special factor in the construction of space identification,enabling people to have a new identification of their space.Secondly,after being put into the funeral environment as a kind of sound,the drum music is not isolated,but becomes a part of the ritual sound realm,which is interconnected,coordinated and complementary with other sounds.In addition,in the combination of sound,emotion and scenery structure formed by the funeral environment,the connotation of music is given special significance by the listener according to the state of the scene,so music is related to the cultivation of a certain personality.In the latter,the aesthetics of music is reflected,and the ideology and structure of music are different from the daily sound,so it enriches the daily sound field.The third level: the formation of the phenomenon is ultimately related to people’s internal concepts.According to the discussion of the previous two levels,and drawing on the theoretical achievements of predecessors,this paper explores the psychology of the composition of drum music in etiquette and customs.As a specific art form,drum music embodies the close voice and situational openness in etiquette and customs activities.By putting the advocating music into the etiquette and customs environment,its cultural significance is revealed,and its structure is revealed.Such a comprehensive investigation enables us to gain a more macroscopic musical image and understand the deeper life world of the music group.
