As a kind of "soft power",national image not only promotes the economic development and construction of a country, but also has an important significance to the role and status of the country in the international arena. With the further promotion of the "One Belt,One Road" initiative,China is showing a new face in the international community, and a study on the perception of China’s national image at this time of the epidemic can help to deeply explore the outside world’s perception of China. This study uses a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods to investigate Singaporeans’ understanding and perceptions of China’s national image in the context of the New Crown epidemic. The study shows that Singaporeans have a generally positive perception of China’s overall image, with the highest rating of China’s economic image. The product platform factor, economic development factor,epidemic-driven factor, cultural connotation factor, language perception factor, overall perception factor, and political environment factor all have an impact on Singaporeans’ perception of China’s national image. The study also finds that the linguistic and cultural heritage of Chinese Singaporeans is not only important to the spread of Chinese in Singapore, but also has a positive impact on the shaping of China’s national image in Singapore. Finally, the paper puts forward suggestions on how to further enhance Singaporeans’ perception of China’s national image in the context of Chinese language communication.
