Watercolor painting has been introduced to China for more than 100 years with the spread of Western learning to the east,but until today,watercolor painting still belongs to the scope of small paintings in people’s impressions.In the continuous research,watercolor painters have deeply realized that if they want to develop watercolor painting,they cannot avoid the problems of "sinicizationand "nationalization".Long way to go.Since ancient times,Chinese culture has a mind that embraces all rivers and all phenomena.For this type of painting introduced from the West,under the unique aesthetic concept and painting context of China,it is undergoing a process of acceptance,imitation,reference,learning,integration and development.process and achieved some impressive achievements.In recent years,with the gradual opening of watercolor courses in various colleges and universities,watercolor painting has spread and developed on a large scale in China,but watercolor painting is in a backward position in terms of the number of practitioners,the number of auctions and the price of collections.Chinese painting has developed for thousands of years in China and has profound cultural connotations.It is the quintessence of China.Its painting language and expression of brush and ink are deeply loved by Chinese people.Watercolor painters are also gradually focusing their attention on the reference attempts of watercolor painting and local Chinese painting.In CNKI retrieval,almost all master’s thesis revolves around how watercolor painting can learn from traditional Chinese painting techniques,or separately discusses the application of Chinese painting brushwork in watercolor painting.,is rational and procedural.Based on this,the author tries to add "interest" to the study of watercolor brush and ink to explore the love and interest of using brush and ink in the works of contemporary Chinese watercolor painters.The focus of this paper is to study the taste of brush and ink in contemporary watercolor works."Spirit" is more perceptual,not only the use of brush,but also the analysis of interest in the use of ink(color).It mainly uses the award-winning watercolor works of some major exhibitions as research clues to explore the effects of the use of pen and ink in Chinese watercolor paintings,and the national spirit contained in pen and ink emotions in specific cultural situations.The research on the factors of brush and ink in contemporary Chinese watercolor works in this paper can enrich the related research of Chinese watercolor painting to a certain extent,and supplement the lack of research on watercolor brush and ink;it has certain guiding significance for the establishment of painters’ styles;The taste of pen and ink has an important influence on the development of contemporary watercolor painting.
