A Study Of Long And Short Vowels In Nasi Dialect Of Wenshan Zhuang Language

The length of vowel is a major feature of Dong Tai phonetics.The research on the long and short vowels of Dong Tai language is of great significance and value for the reconstruction of ancient sounds and the discussion of the evolution law of vowel system in Dong Tai language,but there is a lack of in-depth case study at present.This paper takes Nasi Zhuang language as a case study.On the basis of field investigation,using the methods of descriptive linguistics,historical comparative linguistics and experimental phonetics,this paper describes the phonological features of Nasi dialect in detail,and then makes an in-depth investigation on the long and short vowels of Nasi dialect to explore its synchronic characteristics,correspondence and sources.This paper summarizes the characteristics of long and short vowels in Nasi dialect as follows:1.There are two types of long and short vowels in Nasi dialect:a-and o-;2.The most abundant and orderly opposition between long and short vowels is a-,followed by o-;3.The common characteristics of the distribution of long and short vowels in Nasi dialect and other local languages of Wenshan Zhuang language have nothing to do with geographical distance,and have nothing to do with the differentiation of dialect and local languages;4.For the long and short vowels of Nasi dialect,the length factor is the main factor to distinguish the long and short vowels;5.The tongue position of long a is low,and the tongue position of short a is high.The anterior and posterior position of long a and short a tongue is not fixed.The tongue position of long o is low,and the tongue position of short o is central.The article is divided into five parts.The introduction part,it mainly describes and expounds the research object,the reason for choosing the topic,theoretical methods and the source of corpus,so that readers can understand the framework and content of the article.The first chapter describes the phonology of Nasi dialect.This paper makes a detailed description of the initials,finals and tones of Nasi dialect,analyzes and summarizes the characteristics of phonology and tones,so as to lay a foundation for the later description and analysis of the long and short vowels of Nasi dialect.The second chapter describes the synchronic characteristics of long and short vowels in Nasi dialect.Including the types,distribution and acoustic properties of long and short vowels in Nasi dialect of Wenshan Zhuang language.The third chapter describes the origin and evolution of long and short vowels in Nasi dialect.From the performance of the Primitive Tai long and short vowels in Nasi dialect,the evolution rules of the Primitive Tai vowels are as follows:1.High vowel,low vowel,with transition.2.High and cracked middle vowels.3.Low vowels remain unchanged.The origin and evolution route of long and short vowels in Nasi dialect are as follows:1.The type of a-:*ai>a:i,*?i>ai;*au>a:u,*?u>au;*Δam>a:m,*Δ?m>am;*Δan>a:n,*Δ?n>an;*Δa?>a:?,**Δ??>a?;*Δap>a:p>ap,*Δ?p>ap;*△at>a:t>at,*Δ?t>at。2.The type of o-:*Δ??/*Δu??>o:?>ua?,*Δo?i>o?。The conclusion part reviews and summarizes the main points of the full text,and make further research on the topic in the future.
