Morris.Ravel was a famous French composer and an outstanding representative of Impressionism. His early influence was influenced by Debussy’s musical ideas,so his early works reflected the musical style characteristics of Impressionism."Pafan Dance in Memory of the Princess" is one of Ravel’s early piano solos, reflecting Ravel’s early unique and innovative musical style,as well as the convergence and fusion of impressionist and classical music characteristics, which is a very representative piano solo of Ravel. The work was also adapted into an orchestral version by the composer himself,so his solo piano works are closely related to the orchestral works. This paper studies the symphonic treatment in piano solos and explores richer acoustic effects through a comparative analysis of the solo piano version and the orchestral version of this work. This article discusses several aspects such as the background of creation, creative techniques, and symphonic playing techniques, which can fully reflect the characteristics of Ravel’s work and enable the player to better understand the work.
