| Shaolin stele inscriptions originated in the Northern Dynasties,and their manifestations were inscriptions on statues in Buddhist statue steles,which was related to the popularity of statues at that time.There are many omissions and errors in the previous records of the Shaolin Temple statues.Through the comparison of the literature and the re-examination of the previous literature records,the omissions and errors in the records of the time of the monument,the name of the monument,and the inscription have been corrected.The inscriptions on the statues of the Shaolin Temple are generally engraved around the body of the stele,and the contents are the vows and the names of the sponsors.The content of the inscription on the statue is generally short,and the text of the wish is stylized.The original location of the statues of the Shaolin Temple may have been in the surrounding temples or villages,and later moved to the Shaolin Temple.The Tang,Song and Jin dynasties were an important stage in the development and change of Shaolin inscriptions.During this period,the number of inscriptions on inscriptions increased,the content of inscriptions on inscriptions was rich,and the forms of expression were diverse,which laid the foundation of the Shaolin inscriptions in later generations.During the Tang and Song dynasties,Shaolin inscriptions appeared in various new forms,such as Buddhist scriptures,poetry inscriptions,official notices,and portrait inscriptions.The emperors of the Tang Dynasty were closely related to Buddhism for the purpose of worshipping Buddhism and propagating orthodoxy.During this period,the main body of the stele in the Shaolin Temple was mostly related to the emperor.Zen Buddhism flourished in Song Dynasty,and Shaolin Temple was widely recognized as the origin of Zen Buddhism.Coupled with the expansion of the literati group in Song Dynasty,it became very popular for literati to study Buddhism and Zen Zen.In the Jin Dynasty,it inherited the tradition of worshipping Buddha and statues of the Liao Dynasty,and integrated the culture of the literati in the Northern Song Dynasty.In the Yuan Dynasty,because the imperial court respected Buddhism,the inheritance of Zen Buddhism returned to the ancestral court,the Shaolin Temple prospered unprecedentedly,and Shaolin inscriptions also ushered in a flourishing situation.The number of inscriptions on the stele has increased,and the content of the records has become more abundant,including the life of eminent monks and abbots,the lineage of teaching the law,official documents of the imperial court,inscriptions on poems,inscriptions on portraits,and inscriptions.After Xueting Fuyu,the monastery established a family-style inheritance system of Dharma lineage,and began to attach importance to building towers and monuments for eminent monks and abbots.The number of these inscriptions is the largest,and the inscriptions on the inscriptions are obviously narrative.The Shaolin Temple in the Yuan Dynasty was continuously renovated and constructed,and the inscriptions of construction and official documents increased significantly.The temple construction and temple industry recorded on the inscriptions are also valuable. |
