A Study On The Youth Images In Lao She’s Novels

Under the background of national salvation and survival in the early 20 th century,"Youth" has increasingly emerged as an important social group and a new cultural force.Literary writing and aesthetic candlelight on it has also become a penetrating theme of modern Chinese literature.Most writers convey their observation and recognition of youth groups and their thinking on the enlightenment discourse of saving the nation from subjugation and survival through youth writing based on a specific position or perspective,and participate in the transformation of national character and social change through the literary imagination of the personality structure and cultural choice of ideal youth.Lao She is a great master of modern literature.The youth writing in his novels is an important part of Chinese literature in the 20 th century,and has contributed fresh youth images to the literary corridor.By focusing on and deeply analyzing the young images struggling between the new and the old,China and the west,knowledge and behavior in Lao She’s novels,and then clarifying the relationship between Lao She’s youth writing and his overall creation,it will help to broaden the vision of Lao She’s research.Combing the evolution of Lao She’s depiction of the ideal youth image in different creative periods and closely following the contradictory mentality of his cultural choice between the "May 4th" literary tradition and the value orientation of the civil class,we can touch the clear context and mental process of Lao She’s transformation of the discourse attitude of revolutionary literature.This thesis is mainly based on the shaping of in Lao She’s youth image,based on the youth writing his creation.The introduction part of the paper explains the reason,research significance and research ideas,and focuses on defining the core concept of "Youth" on the basis of literature review.The first chapter discusses the generation background of Lao She’s youth image based on the view of Chinese and Western culture.From the perspective of knowing people and discussing the world,this paper discusses how Lao She shaped the image of youth in the perspective of the infiltration of Jingqi culture and the reference of English literary resources.The second chapter discusses the construction of youth image pedigree with great structural tension in Lao She’s novelBased on the close reading of the text,this paper focuses on the three youth groups in Lao She’s Novels: the intellectual youth committed to the "sewing" of the times,the social youth struggling in the bottom difficulties,and the ideal youth acting in the vortex of the times,and deeply analyzes their different personality characteristics,life state,destiny trend and ideal pursuit,as well as Lao She’s own expectations and sustenance for the future hidden behind these youth images;The third chapter is the reflection on the image of the youth and the cultural choice of nostalgia through the traditional mentality;Criticism and acceptance of capitalist culture.This paper focuses on the root causes of the defects of the image art of reformist youth in Lao She’s works,so as to highlight the irreconcilable contradiction between his citizen position and the pursuit of enlightenment value,and the attempt and effort to bridge the two through the shaping of the ideal youth image.
