As a textual material containing important information such as officials,geography,surnames and culture,Chinese character seals are of great value for studing the history of Southwest China region during the Warring States Qin and Han Dynasties.With the deepening of field archaeological work,a considerable amount of archaeological data about the Warring States Qin and Han dynasties have been accumulated in Southwest China region,and the unearthed Chinese character seals are also increasing.Based on the full investigation of previous records and research results,this paper combs the published official seals,and collects 166 Chinese character seals unearthed in the southwest,including 26 official seals,78 name seals,32 auspicious proverbs,30 nationalities,place names and other seals.And the Chinese character seals unearthed in this area during the Warring States period,Qin and Han Dynasties are specially sorted out and studied,and the historical and cultural connotation of these Chinese character seals is revealed at the same time.This paper systematically combs the previous research results of Chinese character seals unearthed in Southwest China region.After analyzing the specific conditions of the research on the source of seals,the textual research and interpretation of the contents of seals,the analysis of the nature of seals,the age of seals and the identity of the owner of seals,the Research on the cultural exchanges and changes reflected by seals,the research on seal calligraphy and casting technology,this paper first analyzes the official seals,name seals The arrangement and interpretation of auspicious proverb seal and other seals such as national place names,and some misunderstood and unread Chinese characters are interpreted;According to the content of the seal,this paper studies the official setting of the Central Plains Dynasty in this area,and discusses the governance of the Central Plains Dynasty in the southwest and the process of multi-ethnic integration in the Southwest during the Warring States Qin and Han Dynasties.In addition,according to the collected name seals unearthed in this period,this paper discusses the composition and origin of the big surnames of the haos in the southwest in the late Eastern Han Dynasty.In the writing,this paper also makes charts for describing the scattered Chinese character seals in Southwest China,which are attached to the back of the text for reference.In the form of tables,the handed down official seals related to southwest China are collected and sorted out,so as to compare with the unearthed official seals and provide a more detailed data index for the academic community.
