Morpheme awareness plays an important role in CSL learners’ vocabulary learning and development.Most of the existing researches focus on the influence of morpheme awareness on CSL learners’ language skills and vocabulary cognition,but there are few researches on the overall description of the development of their morpheme awareness and the phased characteristics and development trend of each dimension of morpheme awareness.To address this issue,this paper selects four dimensions: morpheme formation,morpheme meaning recognition,word-meaning construal and word structure recognition,explores the phased characteristics of different levels of their morpheme awareness in various dimensions,and construct the development trend and overall characteristics of L2 morpheme awareness in different dimensions.At the same time,based on data analysis and examination,the test data are carefully described and analyzed,and targeted teaching suggestions are proposed.The paper is divided into five parts.Part One: Introduction.It introduces the reason for choosing the topic,the theoretical basis,the research method and the significance of the study,and compares and summarizes the existing studies on morphological awareness in the academic field.Part Two: Experimental design.The research questions and hypotheses,experimental tasks and materials,subjects and testing methods are introduced,and the feasibility of the experimental design is confirmed by implementing a pre-experiment.Part Three: A study on morphological awareness of beginner,intermediate and high level CSL learners.Based on the data statistics and analysis,the three levels of CSL learners’ morphological awareness in each dimension are discussed in groups.Part Four: A study on the development of multidimensional morpheme awareness among CSL learners.Based on the data test and analysis,the multidimensional development of CSL learners’ morphological awareness was investigated,and the development trend of different dimensions of morpheme awareness was formulated.Part Five: Conclusion.The findings of this paper are summarized,and suggestions are made for the teaching of CSL vocabulary based on them. |
