According to the existing research results in the academic circles, combined with the relevant handed down classics, this paper studies the historical material note Jiang Nan Yu Zai and some historical events of the Southern Tang Dynasty in the Five Dynasties. There are mainly ten versions of Jiang Nan Yu Zai,which belong to the two systems of Si Ku Quan Shu and Zhi Bu Zu Zhai Cong Shu.Their main contents are basically the same, but there are also some differences. There are 93 existing entries, which can be divided into four categories: the royal family of the Southern Tang Dynasty, civil servants and military generals, foreign relations and anecdotal visions. The deeds of civil servants and military generals in the Southern Tang Dynasty are the most recorded. After textual research, the author of the book is likely to be Zheng Wenbao of Song Dynasty.More than half of the entries in the book can be examined,or confirmed in the official history,or complemented with historical records,or corrected each other. There are also unique records that only see this book but not other books, such as the record of "Nei Xia Shi",which reflect the important historical value of the book and can not be simply regarded as a small speaker.Based on the comparison with various historical records and the textual research of relevant historical facts, this paper also studies some problems in the history of the Southern Tang Dynasty based on the records of Jiang Nan Yu Zai.It also discusses the officials of the Southern Tang Dynasty,civil-service examination, scholar style,Buddhist and Taoist beliefs, foreign exchanges, social style and some anecdotes involved in the book,.On some issues,it can promote the research results achieved by the academic circles.
