| In the Edo era,the Tokugawa Shogunate put forward the policy of "revitalizing culture and education" to consolidate Japan’s domestic political power, established the official ruling position of Zhu Zi Xue,and formed a good atmosphere of learning Chinese culture. The opening of the trading ports between China and Japan provided the conditions for the Eastward Transmission of Chinese books. With the improvement of Japanese printing technology and the appearance of block-printed books,Shi Shuo caters to the Japanese habit of reading Chinese with its short and precise structure and witty and alert language, therefore,it quickly occupied a place in the Japanese literary world, and the study of Shi Shuo came into being under this background. This paper takes the Edo period as the breakthrough point, and takes the annotated version of Shi Shuo of the Edo period as the research object, through the systematic investigation of the studies of Hattori and the annotations of the monks, this paper analyzes the characteristics of the school of Sinology in the study of Shi Shuo and concludes the general characteristics of the study of Shi Shuo in the Edo period of Japan. The first part combs the context of the spread and development of Shi Shuo Xin Yu in Japan, analyzes the reasons for the formation and development of Shi Shuo in the Edo era,and clarifies the relationship between Sinology and the development of Shi Shuo Xin Yu.In the main part of the thesis, the study of Shi Shuo by Hattori and the annotation of Shi Shuo by monks are selected as the main research objects. The first line of Hattori formed the system of Hattori’s Shi Shuo, which is based on blood relationship, and consists of two aspects: the study of Shi Shuo’s annotations and the study of Shi Shuo’s stylistic structure, the focus of this study is Liu Yiqing’s Shi Shuo Xin Yu and Wang Shizhen’s Shi Shuo Xin Yu Bu,which has changed the situation that the study of Shi Shuo emphasizes Shi Shuo Xin Yu Bu.The study of style of Shi Shuo is represented by Da Dong Shi Yu,which is the result of the Japanization of style of Shi Shuo.Buddhist monks are a special group in the study of Shi Shuo in Japan.Buddhism occupied an official position in Japanese thought before the Edo period.Influenced by political factors,Japan, which originally valued Buddhism, turned to Zhu Zi Xue where monks studied Buddhism while simultaneously studying Confucianism, therefore, the study of Shi Shuo by the monks shows the characteristics of the study of the combination of Confucianism and Buddhism, that is,the study of the combination of Confucianism and Buddhism. The study of the notes of the monks interprets Shi Shuo from the standpoint of the monks, attaches importance to the sound and rhyme of Shi Shuo, and interprets the characters of Shi Shuo in Zen language, and it has its limitations. Finally,it is the overall evaluation of the research characteristics of Edo’s Shi Shuo. The study of the book of Shi Shuo in Edo was based on the text, and the study focused on the textual research and the historical facts, and expounded the scholars’ viewpoints. |
