A Study On The Isomerous Vulgar Characters In Vietnamese Inscriptions

There are a large number of heterogeneous folk characters in Vietnamese inscriptions.These heterogeneous folk characters are not only inherited in China,but also have heterogeneous folk characters with Vietnamese regional characteristics.It truly reproduces the inheritance and variation of Chinese characters in Vietnam,and is a valuable material for studying the spread of Chinese characters abroad.Based on the collection of rubbings of Hannan inscriptions in Vietnam,this paper identifies,cuts,sorts out and studies the folk characters.From the perspective of Chinese character configuration and Chinese folk characters communication theory,this paper explores the categories and characteristics of heterogeneous folk characters in Vietnam’s inscription literature,and tries to show the use and development of Chinese folk characters in Vietnam.This paper takes the heterogeneous folk characters in the Vietnamese inscriptions as the research object.Firstly,the concept of heterogeneous folk characters is briefly described,that is,the folk characters formed by the change of component properties are heterogeneous folk characters.The heterogeneous folk characters in the Vietnamese inscriptions are divided into nine categories:increasing meaning characters,changing meaning characters,changing phonetic characters,classification,simplification,influence by draft books,changing structure,writing variation and all creation.Each category selects representative heterogeneous folk characters for interpretation research.There are some special heterogeneous folk words in Vietnam’s inscription literature.These heterogeneous folk words have the unique regional color of Vietnam,which are unique to Vietnam,or are heterogeneous folk words that exist in Chinese classics but are not widely used and are widely popular outside the country.We call them "new heterogeneous folk words".This paper selects 18 "new heterogeneous folk characters " and the folk characters in Chinese dictionaries for comparative study,and compares them with the extraterritorial folk characters in other countries in the " Chinese Character Culture Circle,"trying to find out their origins and transmission channels.The main reasons for the emergence of ’new heterogeneous folk characters’ in Vietnamese inscriptions are the influence of politics and region,the influence of the inscriber,the expansion of the function of the folk symbol and the influence of the evolution of the font.Through the analysis of heterogeneous folk characters and ’newly created heterogeneous folk characters’,we conclude four characteristics of Vietnamese heterogeneous folk characters,namely inheritance,variability,symbolization and simplification,and point out the value of Vietnamese heterogeneous folk characters in the study of foreign Chinese characters,the collation of Chinese classics and foreign classics,and the study of Vietnamese Chinese characters.Finally,this paper summarizes the research and puts forward the research prospect.
