The Luquan dialect belongs to the small piece of Central Yunnan under the Yunnan section of the Southwest Mandarin.Due to the complex and diverse terrain of Luquan County and the coexistence of many ethnic groups for a long time, the dialect in the territory shows a distinct regional character. The Pudu River, the largest river flowing through the county, roughly divides the Luquan dialect into Hewaihua(to the east of the Pudu River)and Heyihua(to the west of the Pudu River). There is a big difference in the accent between Hewaihua and Heyihua. At the same time, there are also differences in the same place. This paper takes the phonetic differences between the initials and finals of the Luquan dialect as the main research objects, investigating the Luquan dialect and presenting the geographical distribution of phonetic differences by means of geographic information technology, discussing dialect phonetic evolution rules and phonetic variation phenomenon. The full paper is divided into four chapters. The first chapter is the introduction, which mainly introduces the general situation of Luquan’s geography, politics, population, language,a review of geolinguistic research,a review of Luquan dialect research, the research purpose, research significance, research method, research materials and research process of this paper. The second chapter is the dialect phonetic system of Luquan, which mainly introduces the rhythm and tonal phonetic systems of Heyi dialect and Hewai dialect. The third chapter is the geographical distribution and analysis of the phonetic differences between the dialects in Luquan, mainly examining the ten phonetic features of the Luquan dialect, showing the phonetic distribution differences through maps and analyzing the phonetic evolution rules. The fourth chapter is the concluding part.Through the investigation and analysis of Luquan dialects,we found that the consonats and vowels of the Luquan dialect have stability. The evolution has a universal law-the vowels show the characteristics of high, and the evolution of the push chain occurs. The phonetic evolution of the Luquan dialect also has a particularity, which has a special phonological phenomenon within the region. At the same time, the evolution of the dialect is also affected by external factors such as economy, culture, and physical geography.Further,we also discussed the historical evolution level and dialect division of the Luquan dialects.
