| Stillness is an innate ability that we are born with, but it has been gradually ignored in hectic life.In the fast-paced society, people get to know the importance of inner peace, which highlights the theme of Stillness Is the Key.This book is able to help people rediscover and regain the stillness we once owned. The book Stillness Is the Key is divided into three chapters, each corresponding to the three parts of human: mind, spirit, and body.Involving the first seven articles of Chapter One,this report focuses on how to mentally reduce distractions and anxiety that tend to prevent people from reaching stillness as well as on how to achieve long-lasting stillness from the inside out.Based on the translation practice of those seven articles, the author completed the translation report. The report mainly consists of the three parts of task description, process description and case analysis, among which the case analysis is the prime part.Under the guidance of the framework of CEA,which consists of comprehension, expression and adaption, the author discussed the problems encountered in the following three levels: comprehension of source text, expressing of target text and making adaptions, and the translator endeavored to come up with corresponding methods for making the translation faithful, expressive, and elegant. The author has gained much insight from this translation report in terms of the following three aspects.Firstly, the translator needs to have a good command of the language features of and translation strategies for texts of philosophy of life.Secondly, the quality of translation of such a text is subject to the translator’s rich knowledge reserve and solid bilingual skills.Thirdly, since the texts of philosophy of life have the dual features of philosophy and literature, the study of the strategies for translating such a text will shed light on the translation of literary texts. |
