A Report On Machine Translation Post-editing Of Jinan Publicity Materials For Investment Promotion

The translation model of machine translation and post-editing(MTPE)can not only improve translation efficiency and save translation costs but also provide a sufficient guarantee for translation quality.This translation report details the author’s MTPE translation practice.He first conducts machine translation of Jinan publicity materials for investment promotion on the YICAT cloud translation platform.Then he analyzes the typical problems of machine translation from three levels.Finally,he puts forward corresponding translation strategies for the problems of machine translation in the stage of post-editing.Through this translation practice,the author finds that the typical problems encountered in machine translation are mainly divided as mistranslation of proper nouns,culture-loaded words,and four-character structure at the lexical level,mistranslation of long and difficult sentences,non-subject sentences,and the tense at the syntactic level,ambiguous reference,absence of logical connection,and chaotic information arrangement at the textual level.To solve these problems,the author employs multiple post-editing strategies,including checking proper nouns,elaborating culture-loaded words,and verifying four-character structure at the lexical level,reorganizing the structure,supplementing the subject,and identifying the tense at the syntactic level,adopting personal references,adding logical connectors,and adjusting information order at the textual level.Through the analysis of specific cases,the author hopes to provide some references for the translation model of MTPE in the application of publicity materials for investment promotion.
