Poverty has become one of the biggest problems plaguing all humanity.All countries in the world are committed to solving this problem so that everyone can share the fruits of economic prosperity.This translation text is selected from the book Poverty and Power: The Problem of Structural Inequality by Edward Royce.It involves economic sociology and mainly discusses the causes of poverty in American society from a structural perspective.Along with the characteristics of the text of economic sociology,the paper summarizes problems encountered and solutions adopted during this translation practice.Firstly,the article puts forward some translation techniques from the lexical level,namely amplification,repetition,paraphrase and conversion.Secondly,the methods of sentence structure adjustment,division and combination are discussed from the syntactic level.Finally,aiming to realize cohesion and coherence,the paper considers lexical cohesion and situational context during the translation process.It is hoped that this translation report can provide original and valuable reference materials for translators and scholars in related research fields in the future.
