A Study On American Aid To Israel During The Carter Administration

In the late 1970 s,the situation of the cold war against the America,the Middle East region has experienced four times after the war,some countries also began to weary of the lasting damage to people caused by the war,carter took office,on the basis of kissinger’s "shuttle diplomacy",actively participate in the Middle East,trying to dominate the Middle East peace process.This paper takes the Aid of the American to Israel during the Carter Administration as a clue and analyzes the aid of the America to Israel during the Carter Administration in combination with the Arab-Israeli peace process.The main body of the article includes four parts.First,it is a historical review of American aid to Israel,from strategic cooling in the early days of the founding of Israel to strategic warming in the 1960 s to strategic strengthening in the early 1970 s,and briefly combs the historical background of American aid to Israel before Carter took office.The second part analyzes the motivation of America’s aid to Israel during the Carter Administration,from the three aspects of the boost of American Jewish groups,the survival of the American-American relationship was challenged,and the influence of the victory of the Iranian revolution.Again is carter American aid to Israel and the content of the adjustment,this part mainly combined with the arab-israeli peace process and analyzed the America by means of American aid,actively promote the arab-israeli peace process,and in the process of negotiating effectively play to the role of the American aid,attitude about the negotiations both sides,finally led to the camp David accords signed,also pointed out that to promote the smooth progress of the negotiations.America has increased its aid to Israel,deliberately favoring it in the negotiating process.At the end of the paper,the author briefly appraises the important role played by American aid to Israel in promoting arab-Israeli peace process,guaranteeing Israel’s security and curbing the expansion of Soviet power,and points out that America’s aid is not enough for America to completely control Israel.
