The paper is focused on the lifetime of political activities of Mrs.Meir.The paper is divided into four chapters. The first chapter briefly discusses the historical background, family background and education background of Mrs.Meir.Mrs.Meir was born in Tsarist Russia, and her family emigrated to the United States because of anti-Semitic persecution.Under the influence of her family, she began to devote herself to Zionist cause and moved to Palestine. The second chapter discusses the main contributions of Mrs.Meir made to the establishment of Israel from four aspects.First of all, when she arrived in Palestine, she took an active part in physical labor, was responsible for the professional training of Jewish immigrants, strove for the international support for the Zionist cause and was gradually involved in the important decisions made by the Yishuv.Second, working with Britain to fight against the Nazis during world war Ⅱ,at the same time, she actively helped illegal immigrants enter Palestine. After the world war Ⅱ,she embarked on the path of revolting against Britain and fighting for the founding of statehood.Third, after the Palestinian partition plan of UN in 1947,she went to the United States twice to raise funds for the independence war, which was her greatest contribution to the establishment of Israel.Fourthly, before the outbreak of the war of independence,in order to stop the Arab-Israeli war,she had two meetings with king Abdullah of Jordan. The third chapter describes the main political activities of Mrs.Meir.Faced with the grim situation at the beginning of the country, she had made great success in solving the immigration problem. In foreign affairs, when she served as Israel’s ambassador to the Soviet Union, she fought for Soviet aid and establishing contacts with Soviet Jews.As a foreign minister in 1956,she was committed to maintaining the survival of Israel, establishing the relations with African countries and providing them with economic, technological and military aid,so that Israel broke the isolation after the Sinai campaign. The fourth chapter discusses the main political activities of Mrs.Meir during her tenure as Prime Minister. To address security and diplomatic issues,Mrs.Meir asked the United States to mediate the Arab-Israel conflict. The United States introduced the "Rogers plan","Rogers Peace Initiative" and the interim settlement successively, but the Arab-Israel conflict was failed to reconcile ultimately. The Yom Kippur War consequently broke out.Although Mrs.Meir was firmly in defence of Israel’s security and fought for American support, the war ended in victory, due to the heavy loss of Israel, she had to resign.Mrs.Meir has devoted her life to the establishment and development of the Jewish nation-state,and her political activities have left valuable spiritual and material wealth for the future development of Israel.Through the study of the political activities of Mrs.Meir,we can understand the Jewish history better and provide some reference for solving the conflicts in the Middle East today.
