Sentiment Analysis Of Rumors Spread In The Context Of The New Crown Epidemic

At the beginning of 2020,the new crown epidemic began to sweep across the globe,posing a great threat to people’s lives and life safety.Due to the extremely high pathogenicity and infectiousness of the virus,panic spread to all corners of the world for a while,and rumors about the virus also emerged.On February 2,2020,the World Health Organization pointed out that people should be alert to the "information epidemic" while guarding against the virus."Information epidemic" refers to the massive amount of information that is difficult to distinguish between true and false.It is difficult for people to find reliable sources of information and obtain guidance.At present,combating the "information epidemic" has become the focus of the World Health Organization."MIT Science and Technology Review" believes that the new crown pneumonia is the first true "information epidemic"(Karen&Tanya,2020).Due to the suddenness of the epidemic and people’s poor understanding of such viruses,in the early stage of the epidemic,driven by crowds,panic,group polarization,collective memory,etc.,various rumors began to appear and spread.In the current Internet age,new media platforms such as QQ,We Chat,Weibo,and Douyin have become popular communication and communication platforms.On the one hand,they have greatly promoted people’s office efficiency and entertainment methods.On the other hand,the Internet has also become a rumor.A breeding ground.This study combines the results of previous studies and selects the Weibo platform as the research object,using Python crawlers,text preprocessing,topic models,time analysis,sentiment analysis,Granger causality testing and other methods to screen texts related to new crown rumors.Processing,analysis and other operations to explore the classification and prevalence of rumors during the epidemic,the emotional changes of netizens before and after the rumor is dispelled,the emotional changes of netizens before and after the "Wuhan lockdown" incident,and the relationship between the spread of rumors and emotional polarity.Through research,we found that the texts on “new crown rumors” and “outbreak rumors” can be divided into 21 themes.people’s positive emotions before and after dispelling the rumors show a trend of first decline and then rise.The timely release of rumor-defying information is conducive to social stability;positive sentiment in non-Wuhan areas increased after the "Wuhan lockdown",while negative sentiment in Wuhan increased;negative sentiment and rumors are causally related,and the official should promptly channel the negative sentiment of the masses and improve the Internet Identify and intercept rumors in China to increase people’s confidence in fighting the epidemic.According to the research results of this article,it helps us to intuitively understand the impact of rumors spread on people’s emotions in the context of the new crown epidemic,which is conducive to the government and the people to better identify and control rumors,and reduce social panic.
