Contemporary light and shadow Installation artwork has unique artistic expression value,which originates from the connection of light and shadow to the whole spatial relationship and field.This paper focuses on Eliasson’s work "Water Bell Pendulum" as the main object of study,thereby extending his multi-level thinking between light,shadow,and field;Furthermore,one can perceive the combined beauty of light and shadow in the work,as well as the inherent forms and concepts of expression.The article is divided into four chapters.The first chapter analyzes Eliasson and the water pendulum,and traces the essence of contemporary light and shadow art through this work.Chapter 2 extends the concept of Bourdieu’s field to the art field,and then delves into the analysis of the "Water Bell Pendulum" in the art field,explaining the relationship between light and field from the perspective of light and shadow.Chapter 3,based on the conditions for the establishment of the Eliasson Art Field,considers the field space from the perspectives of artists and viewers.In Chapter 4,we will analyze relevant art works and extend the concepts of light,shadow,and field.Starting from Eliasson’s creation idea,this article summarizes and studies the spatial relationship of light and shadow devices from point to point,and then introduces Bourdieu’s field Domain theory into the work,and makes an internal connection to conduct a comprehensive analysis and research on its specific era background,creation theory,and style.
