| In Chinese philosophy, the importance of the concept of "De" in both Confucianism and Taoism is self-evident,as can be seen from the Laozi, also known as the Tao Te Ching, which is an important part of Taoist philosophy."De" is also an important concept in Zhuangzi, and is an important breakthrough in understanding Zhuangzi’s philosophy."De Chong Fu" is the fifth of the seven chapters in Zhuangzi, and is also the most important chapter in Zhuangzi’s theory of "De".This paper analyzes the relationship between "De" and "Xing","De" and "Ming","De" and "Xin" in De Chong Fu,and reveals Zhuangzi’s ideological system of virtue and its inner logic, which is beyond form,in accordance with natural nature, rest in heaven, and unite man and heaven.First,"De" and "Xing".Zhuangzi inherited and developed Laozi’s thought, and in the chapter of "De Chong Fu",he portrayed a series of characters with disabilities, who were light on their physical appearance but heavy on their inner one,and were able to achieve full talent but not form. This is why, despite their ugly appearance, they have many followers without having to do anything deliberately, and they have a very attractive personality. This is because they have forgotten their form and embraced virtue, removing the burden of things,so that they can become the embodiment of "De".Secondly,"De" and "Ming".In addition to the physical body, what is also materially exhausting includes fame, fortune, wealth, ruin and reputation, and these are all "the operation of destiny".In Zhuangzi’s view, the two realms of "De" and "Ming" should be harmonised in the context of obedience,in accordance with nature, and in peace. Finally,"De" and "Xin".With an attitude of being at peace with one’s fate, one can naturally be free from the influence of emotions such as happiness, anger, sadness and joy, thus realising Zhuangzi’s idea of "the harmony of virtue",which reflects Zhuangzi’s inward transcendence and his understanding of the natural nature of human beings and the relationship between heaven and man,and shows the state of mind that can be achieved through the perfection of virtue cultivation..In "De Chong Fu",the meaning of Zhuangzi’s "De" can be divided into two aspects: theoretical meaning and practical meaning.First, from the theoretical point of view,Zhuangzi greatly enriched and deepened the theoretical connotation of Taoism’s theory of "De" in the specific context of his time, and played an important role in the later development of Taoism.Second,in terms of practical significance,he provides a unique way of being in the world and a way for us to appreciate the meaning and value of life. |
