Engels Family Ethics Research

The family is the most fundamental bond of human society,and its existence plays a pivotal role in the growth of individuals,the development of society and the prosperity of nations.Engels analyzed the family and its ethical relations and moral principles from a materialistic perspective.The study of Engels’ family ethics can help us understand the essence of family ethics,grasp the distinctive features and deep laws of family ethics,and provide a theoretical and practical basis for the construction of the current family ethics in China.This paper uses the literature research method and the research method combining theory and practice to systematically analyze Engels’ family ethics.Engels’ concept of family ethics is a product of the development of capitalist economy and the intensification of social class contradictions.It is not only a critical summary of the family ethical problems that have arisen in capitalist society,but also a renunciation and internalization of the family ethical ideas of Morgen,Hegel and some ideal socialists and other predecessors.Family ethics is born in the practical activities of production,and family relations are rooted in production relations and change with them.The awakening of people’s spiritual consciousness makes them begin to form a sense of morality,and the relations between people move from disorder to order under the impetus of production development and the regulation of moral consciousness.Engels’ concept of family ethics contains profound normative principles such as equality,unity of rights and duties,unity of emotions and responsibilities.On the basis of revolutionary practice and theoretical deconstruction,Engels fiercely attacked the alienation of family ethical relations and the degradation of moral consciousness in capitalist society.As an important part of Marxist ethics,Engels’ view of family ethics is not outdated,and the materialistic-historical values,realistic principles and dialectical perspectives contained in it provide theoret...
