Chen Naixiong(1933-2002),Han ethnic group, ancestral home in Shanghai, famous linguist and outstanding translator in China. In 1959,he supported the construction of frontiers and came to Inner Mongolia University, where he was engaged in Mongolian language research and literary translation for many years.Chen Naixiong has translated a lot of works in more than30 years of translation career,so far there is very little research on Chen Naixiong’s translation of Mongolian modern literature, this paper aims to conduct a more holistic study of Chen Naixiong as a translator, taking Chen Naixiong’s translation of 8 modern Mongolian literature as the research object, combined with the theory and method of translation mediation,in order to reveal Chen Naixiong’s translation strategy and translation characteristics.Chen Naixiong is a Chinese translator of modern Mongolian literature, and has the unique insight that "only by adopting the method of organic combination of literal translation and paraphrase can the translation and the original work be fully equivalent".From the translation of Rodai Damba’s novel "Our School" in 1955 to the final work Danachuk Dorji and other novels "White Moon and Black Tears" in 1980,it can be seen that Chen Naixiong’s translation strategy is alienated and naturalized, and the translation characteristics are loyal to the original language as his translation standard, and his translation of modern Mongolian literary works specifically describes the life of people of all classes reflecting the social environment at that time, reveals the revolutionary struggle of the Mongolian people, and praises the great friendship between China and Mongolia, showing the author’s literary heritage, the translator is faithful to the style of the second creation of the original text, and achieves the translation effect of both form and god under the comparison between the translated text and the original text, which not only retains the characteristics of the original text, but also gives practice and experience to the translation of Mongolian modern literature in China.Chen Naixiong’s translation of Mongolian modern literature is not only of great significance for the study of Chen Naixiong’s translation practice, but also has a new orientation for Chen Naixiong’s contribution to Sino-Mongolian literary exchanges.Chen Naixiong contributed a lot to the Sino-Mongolian literary exchange, and the modern Mongolian literary works he translated on the one hand gradually introduced the developed Mongolian literature to the eyes of Chinese readers,so that more people began to appreciate and study Mongolian modern literature; On the other hand, the Mongolian human environment that appears in Mongolia’s modern literary works is truthfully presented to readers,so that they can experience foreign cultural customs and understand the exotic customs. This article begins with the life of Chen Naixiong, introduces this often overlooked Han translator, whose translation practice is an indispensable treasure of modern Mongolian literature in Chinese, and extensively contrasts his translations and original texts to argue that Chen Naixiong’s translation strategy is an attempt to introduce Mongolian modern literature to China.
