After a long evolution of a single narrative dominated by paper media,the digital medium,with its interactive and hypertextual properties,allows this paper to explore the technology and implications of the future narrative form under the symbiotic view of the’film-game fusion’ permeation.Based on this,film and games are augmented by multiple media to form an emerging art form of embodied interactive narrative that combines multimedia functionality and interactive experience.Traditional media art is a linear narrative,where the audience only passively receives the content of the work.However,in the age of digital media,the fusion of film and video is possible,and the interactive properties of games and the narrative characteristics of video create a dynamic balance of embodied interactive narrative.The audience need participate in the work,generating interaction and feedback.Based on a theoretical model derived from the combination of literary and game theories,this paper aims to grasp the inner development path of embodied interactive narratives,dividing the work into two parts: the content level,which presents the narrative structure and plot,and the interactive level,which adds a mind-flow experience and user involvement.In a filmgame fusion work,these two dimensions need to work together to produce the best effect;embodied interaction is the use of physical movement and senses to produce game interactions,such as physical games and virtual reality.Through embodied interaction,the audience can become more immersive in the work,increasing interactivity and participation.The use of embodied interaction in film-game fusion works can increase the immersion and engagement of the audience,increasing the appeal and social nature of the work.However,the success of future narratives cannot be achieved without the support of theoretical models and the application of technological tools such as embodied interaction,which can only continue to move towards the asymptotic line of film-game fusion. |
