A Research Of Peace Drums In The Western Part Of Liaoning Province In The Context Of Multi-Culture

Liaoxi Taiping Drum,a national intangible cultural heritage project,is a traditional folk dance form that has been preserved and passed down in the Liaoxi Corridor.With its rich history,authentic dance style,and profound cultural significance,it stands as a cultural gem that has been cherished for centuries.The Liaoxi Corridor,a significant route for ethnic migration and cultural exchange,has profoundly influenced the artistic expression of Liaoxi Taiping Drum due to its unique geographical location and diverse cultural background.In line with the ethnic emphasis on preserving outstanding traditional Chinese culture since the 18 th National Congress,this research focuses on the essence of Liaoxi Taiping Drum and leverages the region’s diverse cultural backdrop.A comprehensive study of Liaoxi Taiping Drum is presented,encompassing its historical development,dance and music forms,dance movements,and transmission pathways.The paper comprises five chapters.The introduction,Chapter 1,provides an overview of the research status.Chapter 2 delves into the multifaceted cultural background of the Liaoxi region,exploring its geographical characteristics,production methods,and spiritual symbolism.Drawing from extensive literature review and interviews with inheritors,the formation and evolution of Liaoxi Taiping Drum from ancient times to the present are meticulously examined.Chapter 3 investigates the dance and music forms,utilizing comparative research methodologies to discern the connections and distinctions between dance props,dance folk songs,shamanic artifacts,and shamanic chants.The aim is to unravel the profound influence of shamanic culture on the dance and music of Liaoxi Taiping Drum.Chapter 4 offers an in-depth analysis of the impact of Liaoxi’s agricultural culture on Liaoxi Taiping Drum,elucidating the agricultural cultural elements embedded in the dance movements,dance forms,and dance styles of Liaoxi Taiping Drum.Furthermore,a comparative study of drumming arts from the broader northern region is conducted.Chapter 5 concludes the study by contemplating how Liaoxi Taiping Drum can be better preserved,inherited,and innovated in the new era.The ultimate goal is to enhance public appreciation of regional cultural arts,deepen ethnic awareness of and engagement with outstanding traditional Chinese culture,and facilitate its continued promotion and development.
