| In recent years,the research on the use of foreign language textbooks has gradually attracted the attention of scholars at home and abroad,but most of them focus on the static study of textbooks.Research on the dynamic use of teachers’textbooks is the key to the implementation of the concept of textbooks,the final foothold of the construction and development of textbooks,and also affects the effect of curriculum implementation.This field pays more attention to the practical classroom,so it is of great significance to carry out research on the dynamic use of teachers’ textbooks.The use of teaching materials for teachers refers to the reading,evaluation and adaptation of teaching materials by teachers before,during and after class.This paper takes an English teacher as the research object and uses classroom observation and interview to carry out a case study to explore the use process of teaching materials for teachers.Based on the teacher textbook use model proposed by Sherin,Drake and Brown,and integrating the division of scholars on the adaptation activities of teacher textbook use,this paper comprehensively constructs a "research framework for teacher textbook use" from three aspects:reading,evaluation and adaptation.This paper specifically answers the following research questions:(1)What is the current situation of teachers’ use of textbooks?It interprets from three aspects:textbook reading,textbook evaluation and textbook adaptation.(2)What are the influencing factors of teachers’ use of textbooks?The research results show that teachers have reading activities before,during and after class,with rich reading content.They can read course standards based on grade"requirements",read textbooks,teachers’ books and workbooks based on teaching experience and difficult points in exams,and pay attention to online English resources based on students’ interests.Teachers conduct evaluation activities before and during class based on students and textbooks.Before,during and after class,teachers have rearranged activities,including adding,omitting,rearranging and innovating.There is no textbook replacement activity.The factors influencing the use of teaching materials include teachers,students,teaching materials,examinations,teaching effect and teaching atmosphere.The research finds that there is precision and "deviation" in the teaching material reading orientation.The accuracy is that the teacher can read based on students’interests and teaching experience,while the deviation is that the teaching material reading is test-oriented.The evaluation position presents the characteristic of "flexible and changeable".The adaptation way is diversified,but the adaptation content needs to be optimized.The use of teachers’ textbooks is a multi-lateral interactive process.This paper puts forward the following suggestions on how to improve the use of teaching materials for teachers:creating a learning atmosphere,improving evaluation indicators,attaching importance to teaching experience,optimizing and adapting content,and improving teaching literacy. |
