With the acceleration of China’s aging process and the prominent aging phenomenon,more and more creators in the film and television industry have begun to pay attention to the elderly group,focusing their lens on their later life,their survival situation and inner emotions,reflecting a series of family and social problems in today’s society,triggering audiences to reflect on themselves and care for their families,thus enabling the elderly group to receive more attention,which is conducive to social harmony and family happiness.After experiencing a long period of marginalization and sexlessness in the portrayal of elderly women on screen,they have gradually gained more diverse expressions nowadays.This paper is divided into five parts.The first part studies the evolution of the image of elderly women in film and television dramas,and summarizes the creative situation of elderly themed film and television dramas in China.According to its characteristics,it is divided into three stages to summarize the screen image of elderly women,especially from 2011 to present.With the increase of elderly themed film and television dramas,the image of elderly women has broken through previous stereotypes and has undergone more diverse development,gaining a place on the screen.The second part sorts out the types of elderly female images in elderly themed film and television dramas.Based on Foster’s character image theory,the elderly character images in elderly themed film and television dramas in the past two decades are divided into flat characters with distinct viewpoints and circular characters with varying levels.Based on this,further classification is conducted to explore the symbolic features behind flat and circular characters.The third part discusses the ways in which the image of elderly women is portrayed in elderly themed film and television dramas.Summarize narrative strategies by exploring the commonly used techniques in elderly themed film and television dramas;Combining the beauty of artistic conception in elderly themed film and television dramas,revealing a unique Chinese imagery style;Finally,analyze the director’s portrayal of character images from the perspective of camera language.The fourth part focuses on the value implications of constructing the image of elderly women,reflecting on the current situation of the creation of film and television dramas on this topic.Combined with the utility generated by existing films and television dramas,this part studies and analyzes the image of elderly women in film and television dramas on the theme of the elderly from three aspects: artistic value,social value,and philosophical value.The fifth part,as the focus of this paper,discusses the image of elderly women in conjunction with my graduation work "Beginning of Spring",and reviews and reflects on my work.Analyzed the personality characteristics of elderly female characters in the work,discussed the narrative techniques,audio-visual language,and self-awareness of elderly actors in the process of shaping the image,and finally,discussed the value reflection of elderly female images in personal works,forming self feedback for the work.I hope that this can provide some new ideas and ideas for the creation of elderly themed film and television works,and I also hope that through the creation and research of such works,the public can be aroused to pay attention to the elderly group,especially elderly women,and trigger new resonance and thinking. |
