A Study On The Single Elderly Image In Domestic Family Ethics Dramas

The rapid growth of the elderly population and the increasing life expectancy have brought a series of challenges.The old age is a period of loss of life.According to the sixth census,26.89%of the elderly are widowed and 2.56%are divorced or unmarried.In domestic family ethics dramas,the image of single elderly people such as Su Daqiang,Wen Ying and Song Yuhua has also been shaped.Single elderly people have a certain typicality in TV screens.In 1990,the World Health Organization put forward the goal of "healthy aging",and in 1999 the World Health Organization put forward the slogan of "active aging".TV series play an important role in promoting "active aging" and building a harmonious society.This paper analyzes the twelve family ethics dramas involving the image of single elderly people after 2000 through a text analysis research method,and combines the comments and answers of Douban community and Zhihu community to explore the construction of domestic family ethics dramas.What kind of single elderly image and how to construct the single elderly image.Through the questionnaire distribution,supplement the audience perspective,conduct relevant research on the image of the elderly in the eyes of the audience,and explore the image of the single elderly in the eyes of the audience.This article is divided into four chapters.The first chapter divides the image of single elderly people in domestic family ethics drama.By analyzing the roles of single elderly people and dividing their image categories,we can find that the single elderly people's images in domestic ethical dramas are mainly positive images.From the perspective of relationship image,it is divided into two types:recipients and helpers.Select the main image categories:the image of a single elderly person who is selflessly dedicated and working for his children,The image of a single elderly person who is happy for the old,and the image of a single elderly person who is dependent on his children and confused and forgetful.And the image of disrespectful older people.The second chapter analyzes the construction methods of single elderly people's images in domestic family ethics dramas.The narrative theme of domestic family ethical dramas promotes the main theme,and conflicts are mainly intergenerational conflicts.It also analyzes the use of characters' dialogues,monologues,character costumes,and traditional cultural symbols.Character monologues and dialogues shape the character image from the side;character costumes convey social information related to characters;the use of traditional cultural symbols makes symbols and characters' fate combined,renders the atmosphere,promotes the plot,and to a certain extent,promotes the traditional culture.The third chapter analyzes the image of single elderly people in the eyes of the audience.Most audiences believe that the image of single elderly people in domestic family ethics plays is mainly positive.And when domestic family ethics dramas shape the positive image of the elderly group,most audiences will strengthen the goodwill of the elderly group;when shaping the negative image of the elderly group,most audiences will strengthen the prejudice against the elderly group.The last chapter analyzes the deficiencies and reasons in constructing the image of single elderly people in domestic ethical dramas.The reasons are as follows:social environment before getting rich,changes in family structure,changes in traditional concepts,the impact of urban space reconstruction and entertainment environment,and media discrimination against the elderly.I think there are some shortcomings in the construction of the image of the single elderly:serious homogenization,younger image of the elderly,and Tragic plot.
