| "The Chang’an School of Painting" was a new emerging school of painting that appeared in the Chinese art scene in the 1960 s,and was one of the most influential schools of painting after the establishment of New China. As one of the main members of the Chang’an School of Painting,Fang Jizhong was a disciple of Mr.Zhao Wangyun, inheriting the artistic concept of the school and becoming an important figure in the "Post-Chang’an School of Painting" era in Shaanxi. After the 1980 s,Fang Jizhong entered his creative peak and opened a new era and style of pastoral painting.Fang Jizhong incorporated real-life images into pastoral poetry, innovating traditional landscape painting. He recognized the unique national character of Chinese painting in his artwork, which is fundamentally different from Western painting, even though he integrated Western painting ideas into his work.Despite this, his creations were still based on ink and brushwork.Although Fang Jizhong was unable to complete his artistic research and lacked maturity in the application of certain patterns in his later years, his innovative ideas are still of great value and his contributions and influence on future generations are worth exploring. This article is a thematic study of "Fang Jizhong’s Colored Ink Art" from the perspective of the historical changes in traditional Chinese painting and the contemporary development of Chinese painting. This article uses the new creative experiment of Chinese painting of Fang Jizong as the breakthrough. The article is divided into four parts: the first part explores the changes in the color perception of traditional Chinese painting to modern times;the second part explores the reasons behind Fang Jizhong’s formation of colored ink art based on his artistic career;the third part analyzes Fang Jizhong’s works and his innovative patterns, expressive language, time expression, and ideological aspects,as well as his thoughts on colored ink art and landscape painting exploration;the fourth part discusses the influence of Fang Jizhong’s colored ink art on the "Post-Chang’an School of Artists" and contemporary painting. This influence not only leads to technical and painting style innovations, but also to the rebirth of creative ideas based on personal character inheritance.Through comprehensive research on Fang Jizhong’s works and theoretical analysis,it is concluded that the creation of Fang Jizhong’s colored ink art is based on the national style of painting, borrowing from Western painting’s use of color, richness in color, brushwork, and ink fusion, reflecting the inheritance of the traditional spirit of Chinese landscape painting, and expanding the richness of Chinese painting language.Based on the theoretical principles of the Chang’an School of Painting and the use of Western painting’s color,Chinese painting has been further developed.Through the exploration of pattern creation, theoretical changes, and spiritual inheritance, the transformation and innovation of Chinese painting has been achieved. |
