The "Nine-linked Lights" in Liuling Village,Tiemen Town,Xin’an County,is a folk art form that combines dance,music,and props.It has been passed down for eleven generations within the Wang family in Liuling Village.Xin’an County is situated west of Luoyang,where the "Han Hangu Pass" is located.As a living folk art form that continues to be passed down in the region,the "Nine-linked Lights" reflects the spiritual outlook and local customs of the people,embodying rich content and cultural connotations,and is recognized as a "unique spectacle of Heluo".The instrumental music in the "Nine-linked Lights" serves as dance accompaniment,playing a complementary and vital role.It belongs to the category of dance music in traditional Chinese music and is the focus of this paper’s research.This paper is a preliminary study of the origin and current development status of the "Nine-linked Lights" in Xin’an County.Through extensive literature and field research,the history and culture of this art form were traced to understand its historical and cultural value,as well as its current dissemination and development trends in Xin’an County.Based on this,it was gradually delved deeper into further research.The primary focus of this paper was the study and analysis of the homogeneity and variability of the dance and music in the "Nine-linked Lights" in Xin’an County.In this research stage,the music dissemination theory of "homogeneous music" was used as a guide to explore and the homologous musical pieces were analyzed that have kinship relations with the dance music tunes of the "Nine-linked Lights" in Xin’an County in terms of melody,rhythm,and tonality.This theory also was extended to the study of dance and percussion,and the homologous folk dances with similar content and characteristics were analyzed to the "Nine-linked Lights" in Xin’an County,and whether the percussion instruments in the "Nine-linked Lights" and those in its homologous folk dances have a kinship relationship was compared."Homogeneity" refers to the kinship similarity between different music genres.Comparing music with kinship relations can highlight the individuality of different individuals,that is,their variable development.Through comparative analysis of the dance and music of the "Nine-linked Lights" in Xin’an County with its homologous music,the author elucidates the individual characteristics and variable development of the dance and music in the "Nine-linked Lights" in Xin’an County,and considering the reasons for its variability.Traditional Chinese music has been a continuously evolving and developing art form,always existing in a state of ongoing communication,fusion,and collision of dissemination movements.Homogeneity and variability are two forces that exist in the transmission and development of the dance and music of the "Ninelinked Lights".They complement each other and together contribute to the current musical form and functional characteristics of the "Nine-linked Lights".Homogeneity and variability are specific manifestations of the unchanging and changing aspects of the development of dance and music in the "Ninelinked Lights" in Xin’an County.In this paper the dissemination and development laws of the dance and music in the "Nine-linked Lights" in Xin’an County was analyzed and summarized,using this as a basis.Furthermore,it aims to demonstrate that traditional Chinese music flourishes under the influence of these dissemination and development laws.
