| Concentrated on the study of Xincun Farmer's Music-Dance in Yanbian'antu county and based on the large bulk of the historical materials, the findings of former experts in this field and that of the field study, this paper provides a thorough research on its historical roots, the history of its development and the value of its existence. Tracing the development and analyzing its forms, this paper has drawn a conclusion of the function and features of Xincun Farmer's Music-Dance,and at the same time, reveals its cultural value.This thesis is composed of three parts: the introduction, the main body of three chapters and the conclusion. The introduction provides a survey of the goal, the value, as well as the materials and methods of this paper.In the first chapter, the two parts, one dealing the roots, the development and the forms of Xincun Farmer's Music-Dance while the other one focusing on the forming process and development, probe into the birth and development of this typical dance. By doing so, this paper reveals that evolved during a long history and a time-honored cultural form, the Farmer's Music-Dance can be traced back to the Korean Three-Kingdom Period. As one particular type of this dance, Xincun Farmer's Music-Dance has its unique historical background.Based on the findings of our predecessors, the field study and other materials, the second chapter examines in detail the actions, the basic dancing techniques, the properties and the music of Incan Fanner's Music-Dance, and draws a picture of its formal characteristics manifesting in the farming and hunting culture as well as its arrangement. In addition, probing into its cultural value, this paper also elaborates its function, including its function in daily life, in festival celebrations, in the communal identification, doing prayers to the gods and goddesses and the function of relieving conflicts. Analyzing from the perspective of its relationship with the Korean nationality, whose most people are good at dancing and singing, with its unique historical background and with the farming culture, this chapter studies its cultural background as well.Focusing on the study of the various ways of its passing-down, the extant forms, the third chapter presents the reasons of the necessity of its preservation and suggests some preservation measures. In addition, this chapter also reveals its pivotal place in Chinese Korean dance, its tremendous influence on the development of Korean dance, and the model significance of its artistic form and achievement in the future development of Chinese dancing art.The conclusion makes a review of the understanding achievements of this paper. |
