The complex and changeable development environment and changing rapidly production technology have brought various uncertainties and severe challenges to regional innovation and development.Improving innovation resilience has become an important mission for regions in the era of knowledge economy.Urban agglomerations are known as incubators for innovation and an important support for China’s innovation and development. As one of the regions with the most dynamic economy, the highest degree of openness and the strongest innovation ability in China, the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomerations is facing acute scientific and technological conflicts and chronic innovation pressure while leading the frontier of science and technology. And the high-quality and sustainable development of the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomerations also puts forward higher requirements to scientific and technological innovation. Therefore,it is necessary to carry out study on the innovation resilience of urban agglomerations and has attracted widespread attention under the background of intensifying international and domestic innovation competition.Study on the innovation resilience of the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomerations will enhance the ability to resist external risks in scientific and technological innovation and can also provide reference for other domestic urban agglomerations to enhance innovation resilience.By using econometric analysis, spatial analysis, social network analysis and other methods, the study analyzed the spatio-temporal characteristics of innovation resilience of Yangtze River Delta urban agglomerations.Constructing an indicator system for influencing factors of innovation resilience of urban agglomerations, using a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods, the study analyzed the impact on the innovation resilience of urban agglomerations qualitatively from the perspectives of geographical location, regional policy and culture, and quantitatively from the perspective of socio-economic perspective and innovation network structure. The results showed that:First, the overall level of innovation resilience of Yangtze River Delta urban agglomerations has improved significantly. From 2011 to 2020,the overall level of innovation resilience of Yangtze River Delta urban agglomerations showed a fluctuating upward trend, and reached a very high resilience level(0.84)in 2020.Among the three dimensions of innovation resilience, the ability to resist risks showed a relatively stable growth, the ability to adapt to adjustment showed fluctuations, and the ability to update and transform showed a downward trend.Second, the regions of innovation resilience in the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomerations varies significantly. From 2011 to 2020,the innovation resilience of cities in the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomerations continued to improve, shifting from a medium and low innovation resilience level to a high resilience level gradually, but the speed and scale of transfer in different regions were different, and the absolute gap and differentiation trend of regional innovation resilience expanded significantly.Third, the spatial distribution of innovation resilience in the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration showed the characteristics of decreasing from the Shanghai-Nanjing-Hefei-HangzhouNingbo axis to the periphery. From 2011 to 2020,the spatial distribution of risk resistance capacity was that the eastern of the urban agglomeration was greater than the west, and the coastal was greater than the inland. The area with high adaptability adjustment ability was improved by point-belt-axis expansion; The renewal and transformation capacity was decreasing along the Shanghai-Nanjing-Hefei-Hangzhou-Ningbo axis. The three provinces of the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration all have depressions for innovation and resilience, and Anhui Province is the most prominent.Fourth, the influencing factors of innovation resilience of the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration are becoming more numerous and complex. The innovation network structure is the leading factor affecting the spatial heterogeneity of innovation resilience in urban agglomerations, and the influence of scientific networks is slightly greater than that of technical networks. The influence of economic development level and industrial development level on innovation resilience continues to rise. The strong business awareness, inclusive open-mindedness,active thinking and convenient transportation in the coastal area are important reasons why its innovation resilience is higher than that of the inland area. The institutional advantages of regions with high policy attention have promoted innovation resilience. The similar but distinctive innovation culture genes of the four provinces in the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration affect regional innovation resilience, and the drive of endogenous innovation culture is an important driving force for the continuous improvement of regional innovation resilience. |
