Relationship And Intervention Study On Social Support,Life Satisfaction And Depression Of Middle School Students | Posted on:2024-03-07 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | Country:China | Candidate:X Lv | Full Text:PDF | GTID:2545307142492464 | Subject:Applied psychology | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | This study conducted a survey on 939 middle school students using the Adolescent Social Support Scale,Adolescent Life Satisfaction Scale,and Child Depression Scale.Starting from the relationship between middle school students’ social support,life satisfaction,and depression status,and intervention research,we explored the possibility of reducing depression in middle school students.Firstly,a questionnaire survey was conducted on 939 middle school students from a middle school in Bazhong City,Sichuan Province to understand the current state of depression among middle school students;Through a questionnaire survey,explore the mediating role of life satisfaction in social support and depression.Finally,a group assistance was designed with the theme of social support level,and a third grade class was randomly selected for intervention to explore whether group assistance can improve social support level and reduce depression level in middle school students,providing some ideas for depression intervention work.The experimental group conducted 8 themed group tutoring sessions,while the control group conducted self-study or other themed group tutoring sessions at the same time.Data from both groups of participants were collected and analyzed before and after the experiment.The results of this study are as follows:(1)The depression level of middle school students is relatively high,with the highest score in the dimension of lack of pleasure and the lowest score in the dimension of low self-esteem.(2)There are significant differences in depression among middle school students in terms of gender,place of origin,left behind,and age: female students have significantly higher depression scores than male students;The average depression score of middle school students from rural areas was significantly higher than that of middle school students from urban areas;The depression scores of left behind students were significantly higher than those of non left behind students;Middle school students aged12-13 have the highest average depression score,followed by those aged 16-17 and17-18,with significant differences among different age groups;There is no significant difference in grade and family structure of depression among middle school students.(3)There is a significant positive correlation between social support and life satisfaction among middle school students,and a significant negative correlation with depression;There is a significant negative correlation between life satisfaction and depression.(4)Life satisfaction plays a partial mediating role in the impact of social support on students’ depression levels.(5)Group support can significantly improve the social support level of middle school students and reduce their depression level.In summary,the following conclusions can be drawn:(1)The level of social support among middle school students not only directly affects their level of depression,but also indirectly affects their level of depression through life satisfaction.(2)Group psychological counseling can effectively enhance the level of social support for middle school students,thereby significantly improving their depressive state. | Keywords/Search Tags: | Middle school students, depression, social support, life satisfaction, group counseling | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
