Based on Guy Bourdin’s photographic works published in Vogue Paris and advertising photos taken for Charles Jourdan and other brands,this paper analyzes the characteristics,formation reasons and impact of Guy Bourdin’s photographic works by combining his works and related works with the background of the times.The first chapter explores the characteristics of Guy Bourdin’s photography works from three parts.The first part starts with the characteristics of Formal language,analyzes the color language in his works,and expounds the visual order and spatial level of his creation through the analysis of color purity and color block area comparison;The second part focuses on the subjects of Guy Bourdin’s photography works,which is characterized by the frequent appearance of high-heeled shoes,presenting the feelings and fetishism of high-heeled shoes from a male perspective;The third part explores the shooting theme of Guy Bourdin’s photography works.The works take death and sex as the theme,and the layout and composition of scene elements revolve around the plot,reflecting the unique narrative plot.The second chapter demonstrates the reasons for the formation of the characteristics of Guy Bourdin’s photography works from the perspective of the cultural trend of his era,the aesthetic of the era and the requirements of the cooperative brand.The third chapter expounds the influence of Guy Bourdin’s photographic features,which is mainly manifested in the public display of promotional themes in fashion photography,and the shift of the visual center of advertising photography from the product itself to the image created by the product.The fourth chapter discusses the influence of Guy Bourdin’s photographic characteristics on his personal creation.In addition,on the basis of the above research,according to the year of publication of his works and the characteristics of the cooperative brand,from the perspective of social history and culture,the reasons for the formation of his photographic characteristics are analyzed and summarized,so as to provide evidence for the characteristics of his photographic works.
