| In the early Ming Dynasty,Chinese painting mostly continued the painting style of Yuan people,and after Xuande,the "Southern Song style" gradually gained popularity.Tao Cheng studied from Jingtai to Hongzhi.During this period,literature turned to the retro movement,and the thought changed from "Neo-Confucianism" to "mind-learning",which was a period of rapid prosperity of Chinese painting in Ming Dynasty.The development of commerce accelerated the literati group to absorb the aesthetic and techniques of folk art and thus to enjoy the trend of both elegance and custom.Zhong Lu Paintings notes that Tao Cheng’s paintings have the feature of "leisurely and carefree".Ming Paintings Record says that he painted more green landscapes and luxuriance in the style of "luxuriance and luxuriance";he is good at painting hooked bamboo and rabbit.Tao Cheng’s painting style has undergone a transformation from Yuan people’s brushwork to that of the Southern Song Dynasty.As a work during the transformation of Tao Cheng’s painting style,the painting of Toad Moon Rabbit of Toad Hall combines the elements of "green landscape" and "hook and bamboo" with the rabbit as its main body,and traces the style of this work from the painter’s two kinds of painting features,combining the ancient book records and painting comments.And from the five elements and five colors,feng shui theory,"fairy mountain" mode and other aspects of traditional cultural consciousness in Chinese painting expression.Tao Cheng takes the mythic allusion of "Moon Rabbit of Toad Hall" as the theme,with the purpose of catering to the needs of time and cultural customs under the popularity of "rabbit" culture in ancient times."Moon rabbit" has auspicious connotations such as longevity,peace and prosperity of the country,and literati groups express their thoughts of setting up the world and feeling homesick through its bitter cold of guarding the Moon palace.This paper analyzes Tao Cheng’s form of expression in which the implication of subject matter and painting thoughts are overlapping and multilevel to express the connotation of the picture,and studies his thoughts and emotions of combining the public aesthetic with the literati interest,and combining the visual allusions,the artistic conception of the picture,poetry and painting with the meaning of "Xiangrui","solitude" and "noble".It provides ideas for contemporary flower and bird painting to reflect its own value pursuit in the creation of popular culture themes. |
