A Practice Report Of The Translation Of Advancing The Green Development Of The Belt And Road Initiative:Harnessing Finance And Technology To Scale Up Low-Carbon Infrastructure From The Perspective Of Adaptation Theory

The original text of this translation practice report comes from a research report on the website of the World Economic Forum entitled Advancing the Green Development of the Belt and Road Initiative: Harnessing Finance and Technology to Scale Up Low-Carbon Infrastructure.At present,China is actively implementing the Belt and Road Initiative and the strategy of sustainable development.The author hopes that this translation practice can provide ideas for China’s green development.Under the guidance of adaptation theory,the translator discusses the problems encountered in the translation process and applies the corresponding translation methods and skills to solve these problems.This report mainly includes five parts,namely introduction,translation process,theoretical framework,case analysis and conclusion.In the process of translation,the translator finds that there are many terms and polysemous words in the translation materials.In terms of sentences,the translated materials are mainly compound and complex sentences,containing cultural information and emotional orientation.In order to solve the translation problems such as choice of word meaning,structure of long and difficult sentences,processing of cultural information and emotional orientation,etc.,the translator adopts different translation technique based on the specific translation examples in this report.In terms of contextual adaptation,translator mainly uses the translation techniques of annotation and addition.From the perspective of structural adaptation,translator mainly adopts the translation techniques of conversion and division.In terms of dynamic of adaptation process,translator mainly uses omission and recombination.In order to be able to highlight the salience of adaptability,translator mainly use four-character idioms and sequence adjustment.Finally,the translator summarizes the guiding role of adaptation theory in translation,and summarizes the limitations of this translation report.
