Under the background of the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China,the political was instable;Western ideas was introduced;the publishing technology innovated.In the collision between tradition and modernity,east and West,the role of children has changed.Represented by the Commercial Press in Shanghai,there have been a large number of pictorial newspapers for the purpose of visual enlightenment,and "Children’s Education Painting" bears the brunt.Under the current situation,the famous painter Feng Zikai put forward the concept of "children’s appearance",pointing out that the history of more than 20 years can be roughly divided into four periods,one of which is the period of depicting children’s appearance.Therefore,this study selects "Children’s Education Painting",the first children’s pictorial newspaper in China,as the research object.The purpose of this study is to explore the generation process and value orientation of "children’s appearance" in education pictorial newspapers in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China,and to dig out the real picture of "children’s appearance".In this study,literature research and historical research methods are used to explore the "children’s appearance" in the educational pictorial of the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China.In the introduction part,it mainly includes the reason of topic selection,research significance,relevant research progress and theoretical basis.In the second chapter,the historical situation of "Children’s Education Painting" is analyzed,which mainly includes two parts: one is the "children’s appearance" towards modern times;The second is the production and self-place of "Children’s Education Painting".The third chapter explores the concrete manifestation of "Children’s Education Painting",and divides the "children’s appearance" into the phase of knowledge,the phase of thinking,the phase of body and the phase of self-cultivation.The fourth chapter discusses the multiple construction ways of "child appearance".It is clear that the generation of "child appearance" involves the confluence of various forces.First of all,there is not only the active participation of others(editors,painters,contributors),but also more power from the children themselves as actors.Secondly,the authenticity,logic and normalization of the image are also important forces for the generation of "children’s appearance".Finally,"children’s appearance" is generated through the innovation of visual expression forms and the guidance of visual viewing behavior.In the fifth chapter,the author constructs the "children’s appearance" as the role of education,further explores the children’s education in the "children’s appearance" and points out that the purpose of children’s education is to enlighten children’s wisdom;children’s education organization is group composition;children’s educational activities are the practice of picture recognition.Based on the above research,"children’s appearance" provides reference experience for modern children’s education.Firstly,the representation of "children’s appearance" is expanded by carrying out multi-element image education and creating practical "children’s appearance".Secondly,it seeks to construct the "child appearance" by encouraging the mutual construction of multiple subjects and adopting diversified construction methods.Finally,the new direction of "children’s appearance" is developed by promoting the modernization of children’s vision and paying attention to the significance of children’s life.
