In recent years,the "metaverse" craze has swept across the globe,with consumer-grade VR devices emerging one after another and many VR film works shining at major film festivals."VR film" has become a hot topic for industry and academia alike.The basic narrative elements of VR film have shifted from "character actions" in traditional film to "interactive actions" co-created by the audience’s "bodies" and the film itself,triggering a narrative transformation that makes traditional film narrative theory difficult to apply to VR film creation practice.Therefore,the audience’s "bodies" are an important starting point for understanding the "interactive actions" of VR film and constructing a narrative theory for VR film.Merleau-Ponty’s phenomenology emphasizes the perception world of the fusion of subject and object,and focuses on the medium significance of the body,which can provide a systematic and powerful explanation of the body issues in VR film and provide a unique theoretical perspective for VR film narrative research.Therefore,this article takes phenomenology as its main theoretical support,VR film as its research carrier,and interactive action narrative as its research direction,aiming to construct an interactive action narrative paradigm that conforms to the characteristics of the VR film medium.Firstly,the foundation of VR film medium is proposed through the body medium,VR medium,and media interaction.Based on the level of VR technology,various interactive actions such as visual,linguistic,gestural,and somatic interactions are sorted out.By synthesizing current VR film works,the narrative composition of image perspective,scene arrangement,and sound creation are extracted.Through this,the elements of interactive action narrative in VR film are clarified.Secondly,by explaining the absence of the body in reality and the presence of the virtual,the blending characteristics between the audience’s body and the image characters are clarified.By discussing the concepts of "movement generates time" and "time is revealed by situation," the blending characteristics between the audience’s "internal time" and the image’s "external time" are made clear.By describing "the body follows the situation" and "the situation generates movement," the blending characteristics between the audience’s spatial body and the image’s spatial body are understood.From this,the narrative characteristics of interactive action in VR film are summarized as "the blending of the body and the image."Furthermore,the body action structure is constructed by real-time interactive actions and time-based interactive actions.The image action structure is constructed by body action guidance and body action feedback.The action emotional structure is constructed by the emotional connection between body actions and image actions.Based on this,the narrative structure of interactive action in VR film is built around the core concept of interactive action.Finally,summarize the body action design methods,including imitating real-life actions to construct real-time interactive actions,referencing character settings to build real-time interactive actions,integrating narrative scenarios to construct time-based interactive actions,extracting core actions from the plot to construct time-based interactive actions,and other body action design methods.Summarize the guiding principles of visible-to-invisible transformation of body actions,constructing body actions guidance based on perception and experience,feedback-guided body action feedback concepts,constructing body action feedback using a single narrative identity,and other motion-image design methods.Summarize the motion-emotion design methods of regulating audience emotion acceptance in both positive and negative directions,generating audience emotion through image character emotion presets,establishing emotional tone through image scenes,constructing a database of motion-emotion transformation,and other motion-emotion design methods.Based on this,release a perception phenomenology-based VR image interactive motion narrative design method.
