| After the demise of the Eastern Jin Dynasty,the Southern Dynasty returned to imperial power politics.As one of the forces representing imperial power,the imperial clan was an important object to study the imperial power politics of the Southern Dynasty.The Southern Qi Dynasty is the second regime of the Southern Dynasties.Through the study of the imperial clan policy in the Southern Qi Dynasty,we can get a glimpse of the political role of the imperial clan in the Southern Qi Dynasty and have a deeper understanding of the imperial power politics in the Southern Qi Dynasty.Therefore,this paper attempts to make a detailed analysis of the imperial clan policy in each period of the Southern Qi Dynasty,explore the background and reasons of the formation of the policy,and then explore the influence of the adjusted imperial clan policy on the political situation of the Southern Qi Dynasty.Last year of the Southern Song Dynasty.Xiao Daocheng forced Emperor Shun of Song to establish the Southern Qi regime.As a new regime following the Southern Song Dynasty,Xiao Daocheng retained the consistent style of imperial power politics.He not only intended to cultivate the emperor and establish the prestige of the emperor as a ruler,but also continued to use the imperial clan as an important force to consolidate the imperial power.However,in view of the consequences of the civil unrest caused by the imperial clan power in the late the Southern Song Dynasty,Xiao Daocheng made adjustments to the imperial clan policy on the basis of reusing the imperial clan,in order to control the imperial clan power within the control of the emperor and avoid threatening the personal power of the emperor.The imperial clan policy of Emperor Gao of Qi undoubtedly had initial results,and the Southern Qi regime was quickly stabilized.However,the imperial clan forces still affected the status of the crown prince Xiao Ze,which made Xiao Ze take a ’ superficial reuse,but actually limited ’ policy towards the imperial clan after his accession to the throne,and the measures to treat the imperial clan were more stringent.These measures have hit and weakened the imperial clan forces and failed to provide assistance to the imperial power,which in turn led to the usurpation of the throne of Emperor Gao of Qi by the collateral imperial clan Xiao Luan.After the usurpation of the throne,Xiao Luan learned the lessons of Emperor Emperor Wu of Qi and King Yulin,and took gentle measures to his own clan,in order to consolidate his rule with the help of imperial clan power.Although Marquis of Donghun continued the policy of Emperor Ming of Qi and did not take severe measures against the imperial clan,due to the lack of personal ability,the imperial clan did not play its role as the backing of imperial power,but became the driving force to promote the collapse of the Southern Qi regime.Through the study of the imperial clan policy of the Southern Qi Dynasty,we found that although the imperial clan was not the only decisive force affecting the Southern Qi regime,it still could not ignore its influence on the political situation of the Southern Qi Dynasty.The imperial clan policy determines the role that the imperial clan can play in the Southern Qi political arena.In all aspects of the development of the Southern Qi regime,the strength of the imperial clan is closely related to the development of the Southern Qi regime. |
