Research On The Evolution Of Women’s Sports Policy In China Since The Founding Of New China

General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out that women are the pioneers of human civilisation and the drivers of social progress,and that it is necessary to stimulate the sense of historical responsibility and mastery of the majority of women,and to promote women to be at the forefront of the times.Since the founding of New China,women’s sports in China have made remarkable achievements,both in the opening up of the masses and in the training of elite athletes,and have undergone profound changes,coming out of their own unique development path and holding up "half the sky" in the development of sports in China.In the new era,the world has been undergoing unprecedented changes for a century,and the tasks facing the Party and the country have become even more onerous.In this new historical period,the realization of the vision of a strong sports nation calls for more struggle and contribution from our women compatriots,and the study of women’s sports and women’s sports policies has received attention.Using the methods of documentation,content analysis,historical research,logical analysis and comparative analysis,the study takes as its object the various women’s sports policies(including in the form of laws,regulations,ordinances,measures,opinions,implementation rules and circulars)promulgated in China since the founding of New China.The study compares the evolution of women’s sports policies since the founding of New China in 1949,summarises the characteristics of their evolution,and focuses on the factors influencing the development of women’s sports in China and the problems existing in the implementation of women’s sports policies,so as to propose optimisation strategies for the development of women’s sports policies in the new era.The main findings of the study are as follows:(1)The development of women’s sports policy in China can be divided into five stages: The period from 1949 to 1955 was the germination period of women’s sports policy development in China;from 1956 to 1965 was the growth period of women’s sports policy in China;from 1966 to 1977 was the period of stumbling and oscillation of women’s sports policy,and the development of women’s sports policy entered a low point;from 1978 to 2011 was the period of change and speed of women’s sports policy;and from 2012 The period from 1978 to 2011 was a period of change and rebirth for women’s sports policy.(2)Women’s sports in China have received national attention,and women’s sports are of great significance to the modernisation of the country,enriching the development of sports in China and promoting national economic and social development.Women’s sports policy in China has changed along with social progress,and has been influenced by different factors at different historical stages,showing regular characteristics in the process of evolution.(3)Due to the influence of various social factors,there are still many problems with women’s sports policy,such as the imperfection of women’s sports policy itself,the weakened implementation of women’s sports policy,and the restricted environment for the implementation of women’s sports,etc.The task facing women’s sports in the new era is even more arduous,posing a more serious challenge to women’s sports work and putting forward higher requirements for the new development of women’s sports policy.(4)In this new historical era,women’s sports policies need to be constantly optimised to meet the development of the situation.Specific optimization strategies include: enhancing women’s ability to participate in politics and improving the women’s sports policy system;improving the level of women’s sports policy implementation and optimizing the implementation mechanism of women’s sports policy;increasing women’s willingness to participate in sports and strengthening the identity of target groups;optimizing the environment for women’s sports implementation and guaranteeing the effectiveness of women’s sports policy.
