The Inspiration For The Creation Of The Series "Searching For Jin" From The Bronze Bogu Paintings

Originally used to depict vessels,paintings on the subject of bogu evolved into works depicting literati assemblies appreciating antiquities as bogu culture became increasingly prosperous and permeated the lives of people from all walks of life.Gradually,it developed into a form combining ancient bronzes as the main body,with treasures and playthings,seasonal vegetables,flowers and fruits,and other elements.This paper explores the bronze culture and related characteristic culture of Shanxi Province on the basis of the analysis of paintings with bronze themes through the ages,especially the in-depth study of works with bronze elements in bronze paintings,and the lessons learned from the works of bronze paintings of previous generations.This paper is divided into three parts:The first part unfolds the analysis of bronze bogu painting,provides an in-depth analysis of the development of bronze bogu painting through the ages,lists the bronze bogu painting works of each period and conducts an in-depth study of the different artistic characteristics of each period from three perspectives: subject matter,technique,and coloring.The second part uses Shanxi bronzes to inspire creation,divides the elements in the picture into three categories: bronze elements,floral elements and other elements,and elaborates on their unique features.Through a brief analysis of the three aspects of composition,color expression and artistic techniques borrowed from the previous bronze paintings,the series of "Seeking Jin" is elaborated.The third part summarizes the influence of bronze paintings on this creation,reflects on the shortcomings in the creation,and gives rise to thoughts on the combination of traditional culture and new things,discussing the new form of bogu painting that integrates ancient meaning and modern rhythm.This series of creation uses a variety of artistic techniques to present,based on the study of the creation of bronze antique paintings in the past generations,trying to integrate the artistic language used by the predecessors into the picture.By digging deeper into the cultural connotation contained in Shanxi bronzes and breaking the single pattern of traditional bronze paintings,the unique flavor of Jin-style bronzes and the fading flowers are integrated into the creation of the "Seeking Jin" series,presenting a different Shanxi culture with two series of artifacts and idiomatic allusions.
